March, 2015

Pompeii was a city in the Roman Empire.  In the year 79, it was burried by volcanic ash and pumice from the eruption of Mount Vesuvius.  The ash and pumice served to preserve much of the city.  Pompeii today is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is one of the most popular tourist attactions in Italy.
