Split

April, 2017

Split is the second-largest city of Croatia and the largest city of the region of Dalmatia.  It is home to Diocletian's Palace, built for the Roman emperor in AD 305.

Diocletian's Palace.  Supposedly, Tito had high school students clean out these cavernous halls.  In the middle ages, people lived above these halls.  Supposedly, these were used as a receptacle for there bathroom waste.  Today, much of the area above these halls has residences.

An artist's rendering of the original palace.
