This day we go to Jim Thorpe, PA. Two neighboring smaller towns decided to honor Jim Thorpe by combining and renaming themselves as Jim Thorpe. Jim Thorpe is set in a valley surrounded by beautiful scenery. Of course, there is also an historic estate (the Asa Packer mansion) to visit.
The Asa Packer mansion. Asa Packer was an industrialist and philanthropist. Among his many accomplishments, he founded Lehigh University and the Lehigh Valley Railroad.
