Van Buren, Missouri

The Current River

In late July, Pat and I attend a family reunion in Van Buren, Missouri.  The main activity (besides visiting and gossiping) is floating down the Current River on an tube.  Pat, Gretchen, and Glenda take the tube ride.  I stay with grandma at the hotel beside the river.  Here are the photos.

The ladies pick out their tubes.

They get their tubes early and now have to wait for the transportation.

Transportation arrives and they load up.

Time to leave for the float.

The float is popular.  The ladies left early, and now the parking lot starts to fill up.

They return, again vowing never to do this float again. (notice they are dragging their tubes).  They are wet, sore, and tired.
