Florida Vacation
Page 2 - Friday, January 19, 2001
Pat and I had a 7:30am flight. So it was up early and and off to the airport. We parked at Park Ride Fly and took their shuttle to the terminal. We arrived in Orlando on time and without incident. We claimed our luggage and then found the Alamo Rental car shuttle. I made the reservation thru Priceline.com and got a good deal. After getting the vehicle (a Pontiac Montana van), we were off to visit my aunt and uncle (who winter in Plant City which is close to Tampa). On the way, Pat and I toured Celebration, Florida. Celebration is the town created by Disney to be the perfect place to live. The town appeared to be very regimented and neither Pat nor I liked it very well. It appeared to be too perfect.
After leaving Celebration, we continued on to Plant City. We had a good visit and then returned to Orlando. We checked into the Renaissance Orlando Hotel - Airport. I had made the reservation thru Priceline.com and got a good deal. For dinner, Pat and I went down to Church Street Station in downtown Orlando. We had seafood at a restaurant named Pebbles. Then it was back to the hotel and bed.
Florida Temperature today was in the 80's.
