Vatican

The Vatican is the center of Christianity and specifically the Catholic Church.  It has been located in Rome almost since its beginning.

We booked 2 tours in the Vatican whee we were not allowed to take pictures. One was the Scavi tour and the other was the visit to the Sistine Chapel.  The Scavi tour explores the excavations underneath St. Peters Basilica.  Part of the Scavi tour provides a glimpse of the tomb of St. Peter.
