Mobile and New Orleans
Bellingrath Gardens - Sept. 24
This morning Pat and I are off to Bellingrath Gardens. Bellingrath Gardens are southwest of Mobile. After almost getting there, we decide that the weather is to uncertain, so we turn around and head back over to the east side of Mobile Bay (Mobile is on the west side of the bay). We find an antique mall and Pat is very happy. We walk the aisles and Pat finds a French fish plate that we buy. It is now time for lunch. We eat at a restaurant called Manci's Antique Club, Inc. This little neighborhood establishment (bar and restaurant) has hundreds of Jim Beam decanters on display.
After lunch we head back to Bellingrath Gardens. The weather is beginning to clear. While this is not prime time for the gardens, it was still nice and we learned some about the history of Mobile. The grounds also have a large house. This was the estate of the premier Coca Cola bottler of Alabama (and other areas).
Now for the photos.
