Italian Pilgrimage
Page 9 - Thursday, November 9, 2000
Today, we go home. Our flight is scheduled to leave Rome at 10:45. First though is breakfast. Breakfast is hard rolls, pastry, ham, cheese, cereal, milk, coffee, tea, juice, hot chocolate and cappuccino. We have our luggage out in the hall to be collected by the porter. We check out of the hotel and board the bus. We get to the airport and go through lines and answer questions. Before boarding the US Airways plane (an Airbus cattle car), we spend all but about 3500 lira (less than $3.00) on various items. We board and leave Rome on time to Philadelphia. On the plane, we have several meals, free drinks, free movies, and uncomfortable seats. Just like on the way to Rome. We arrived in Philadelphia in the mid-afternoon and notice that we still do not have a president elect. No one appears to know what is going on with the election. We clear immigration and customs and then re-check our luggage. After a 2 - 3 hour layover, we leave Philadelphia and return home.
